iGen LAB / Advanced Diagnostics

Advanced diagnostics for electronic devices.

When the symptoms don't clearly point to the cause of a fault, we first identify what's actually wrong before planning a repair.

Advanced Diagnostics

When is advanced diagnostics needed?

Advanced diagnostics is the right fit when a standard check isn't enough to identify the cause of a fault. Instead of assuming which component is damaged, we first identify the real source of the problem — only then can we define the possible scope of further work.

When it's needed

When advanced diagnostics is needed

01The device won't power onNo response to the power button or charger, and the cause isn't known yet.
02The fault is intermittentThe symptom comes and goes, making it hard to pin down without checking the device.
03A previous repair didn't fix the problemThe fault returned, or never went away, despite an earlier part replacement.
04The symptoms don't clearly point to one componentSeveral components could cause the same symptom — this needs checking before we can define a repair scope.
05The device needs a closer electronics assessmentA standard check isn't enough to identify the real source of the problem.

Symptoms

Signs that may call for diagnostics

  • The device doesn't respond to a power-on attempt and it's unclear why
  • The fault appears sometimes, and the device works normally other times
  • A previous part replacement didn't solve the problem
  • It's unclear which component is causing the symptoms

This isn't the same as motherboard repair

Advanced diagnostics covers cases where the cause of the fault isn't known yet. If diagnostics shows the problem involves the motherboard's electronics, further work continues as motherboard repair →.

Process

How does a submission to LAB work?

  1. 01

    Submit the problem

Describe the device model and the symptoms you've noticed.

  2. 02

    Diagnostics

We check the device to identify the possible cause of the fault.

  3. 03

    Defining the possible repair scope

Based on diagnostics, we determine what scope of further work may be needed.

  4. 04

    Information for you

We share the diagnostic result and information about the possible next steps.

Symptoms don't point to a clear cause?

Describe the device model and the symptoms you've noticed — we'll check what the possible next step is.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is advanced diagnostics different from motherboard repair?

Advanced diagnostics covers cases where the cause of the fault isn't known yet. Motherboard repair starts once we know, or suspect, that the problem involves the board's electronics.

Does diagnostics always lead to a repair?

No. Diagnostics establishes the possible scope and cost of further work — you decide whether and how to proceed after receiving that information.

How long does diagnostics take?

It depends on the nature of the fault — we share a timeframe once we've received the device.

What if diagnostics doesn't find a clear cause?

We share what we were able to determine and the possible next steps — we don't promise a definitive result in every case.

How do I submit a device for diagnostics?

Describe the device model and the symptoms you've noticed — we'll use that to determine the next steps.
